Where the Figures Come From

The due date comes from the same rule engine as the OneTrails compliance calendar, including any extension notified for the period. Days late are counted from the due date (or from the end of a late-fee waiver, when one is notified) to the filing date you enter.

The fee then follows the late-fee rule for the return: a daily amount, a cap that depends on the band of last year’s turnover, a lower rate for nil returns, or for TDS and TCS statements a cap at the tax in the statement. Interest on GST paid late is worked out by days, on the cash you enter, and rounded to the rupee as the portal does.

Every figure names the rule row it came from, the date that row took effect and how sure the rule table is. Interest on TDS deducted or paid late depends on deduction dates and is worked out inside OneTrails, not here.
